Introduction to Stoneleigh Residence
Established in 1989 "Stoneleigh Home" is a family owned and managed concern which is registered to provide personal care to fourteen people of old age, male and female.
Only a five minute drive from Pocklington, Stoneleigh is shadowed by the Yorkshire Wolds and nestles in spacious grounds within the village of Bielby. Our home is a modern detached residence set in four acres of carefully landscaped gardens, home to such wildlife as exotic aviary birds, barn owls, horses, donkeys, ducks, hens and a various selection of well fed garden birds.
Our extended family of only twelve residents are fully accommodated on the ground floor.
We encourage all residents to maintain the highest quality of life possible, their independence, privacy and dignity being of paramount importance.
All staff provide the highest standard of care and housekeeping which we believe to be our residents right. Our guests will be able to relax in the knowledge that there is always someone to help - a cup of tea during the night is the “norm” not the exception!
Giving up one's home, to live in a communal environment can be very distressing. It is our aim to make the transition less traumatic and as pain - free as possible.
Our Philosophy
This is the guiding principle of the running of Stoneleigh Home and that, which transforms our 24-hour service into active care. We are primarily concerned with our "extended family" and as with any family our aims and objectives are simple, love, care and attention to individual needs.
NOT JUST A HOME, YOUR HOME!

Accommodation
Rooms are all on ground floor level, five of which are en-suite with one large enough to be a companion room if required. All rooms are tastefully decorated to the resident's own specification where possible, and are furnished to a luxury standard throughout. We currently have two bathrooms equipped with lift baths, making bath times enjoyable, comfortable and safe.
Food
Variety and first class quality are our two main priorities when preparing our fresh home made meals. Individual preferences are taken into account and special dietry requirements catered for. Food is freshly prepared and seasonal vegetables are used from our own garden. Our home made salmon en croute with fresh spinach and hollandaise sauce is a favourite!
Recreation
Life can be as busy or as quiet as one wishes to make it! Resident's can enjoy daily activities from dominoes, scrabble, flower arranging or supervised baking, to simply choosing a book from our vast collection of LARGE PRINT literature. We have an activities Co ordinator who visits every Tuesday to deliver a programme to fit individual's taste and requirements.
